See 125.
Mr. Talbot of the F.0. rang up on Friday to
say that the United States authorities had asked for
rather fuller information tnan that contained in the
specimen summary which we nad sent to Hong Kong. He
was not clear as to exactly what information they
would require, and I suggested that Hong Hong would
probably object to preparing very detailed statements,
and that it might be best if the U.S. Consul-General
in confidener were merely furnished with duplicates of the weekly
returns sent us, and which we have now told Hong Kong
to discontinue.
Mr. Talbot agreed, and I attach draft
telegram for conson.
